First and foremost, thank you so much for checking out my page! I am beyond excited to share my experiences and very thankful for everyone who has been following my journey thus far. This blog is about my life, my travels, lessons learned, laughs shared, and adventures of making my way in the Big City. My hope is that this blog encourages you and inspires others to dream as big as me.
And so let's begin... xoxo
For the past five weeks, I have been living in beautiful Minneapolis, Minnesota, while performing at the Orpheum Theatre. This city took me by surprise with its activities and gorgeous scenery. Here are seven things you must do while visiting the Twin Cities area.
Ok, I know this is the most cliche idea (and, yes, I know I have a shopping addiction), but you must visit this place at least once! I mean, there is an amusement park in the middle of the shopping center. The mall has four floors full of all kinds of stores, restaurants, a miniature golf lawn, and an aquarium. You could spend hours walking around, so give yourself a while to explore.
This precious store definitely has one of my favorite ice creams in the country. Their cups and cones come with an izzy (and extra small scoop of a flavor). Cake batter is my favorite, and their waffle cones are unreal. Both of my trips for ice cream did not disappoint, and I cannot wait to find their containers in Whole Foods around the country soon.
This entire area of Minneapolis is stunning. There is so much green space and has a large hill to overlook the river. The beautiful Guthrie Theatre is located next to the park and has a wonderful observatory from the top. From here, you can either walk around the old mill ruins at the Mill City Museum, catch a view of the US Bank Stadium, or walk a block over to Izzy’s.
This park is absolutely gorgeous! The falls are about a 15 minute drive from downtown and quite popular in the area. It is a perfect getaway out of the center of town.
I love baseball, and this stadium is absolutely beautiful. It is located right in the middle of downtown, so it could not be more convenient. Go early for batting practice and walk around eating all the hot dogs you can find.
Side note: Target’s HQ offices are in downtown Minneapolis, so the superstore is a very big deal in the city. Hence, the name of the stadium, and, hence, all my money fleeting me for the past five weeks.
Y’all, I love a good carb, and this donut shop is worth the trip. Just across the Mississippi River, this store has so many unique flavors of fluffy goodness. The decor is precious (and pink), and has tons of room to sit for a donut or two…or dozen.
This might be my favorite place in the city. The view is unbelievable of the downtown skyline and river. The bridge will take you over the Mississippi River to the other side of town. Make sure to eat at the Aster Cafe for brunch across from the bridge.
Where are your favorite places in Minneapolis?!
